A finer needle makes the daily injection easier to face

The Embecta Ultra-Fine insulin syringe pairs a 1mL U-100 barrel with a 31 gauge, 6mm needle, so the dose is measured accurately and the injection is over quickly.

Embecta manufactures this syringe from a surgical grade of stainless steel and finishes the cannula with an optimised point geometry, then coats it in a Micro-Bonded lubricant. The result is a needle that enters and withdraws with very little drag. At 31 gauge and 6mm it is the finest and shortest option in the Ultra-Fine range, which is why clinicians reach for it when a patient injects several times a day and needle anxiety is a real barrier to compliance.

The barrel is graduated to the U-100 scale, giving a clear read of the drawn volume without the guesswork of a converted measurement. Every needle point passes a 100 per cent inspection before packing, so the box you open in six months performs the way the first one did.

Supplied sterile, single use, latex free and non-pyrogenic in a box of 100. Stock it in a treatment room, an aged care trolley or a home medical kit.

Often ordered together:

  • 31 gauge x 6mm needle - the shortest and finest needle in the Ultra-Fine range for a low-discomfort subcutaneous injection
  • 1mL barrel graduated to the U-100 scale so a full dose is drawn and read in a single syringe
  • Micro-Bonded lubricant coating lets the needle enter and withdraw smoothly with less drag on the skin
  • Surgical grade stainless steel cannula with optimised point geometry for a clean, consistent entry
  • Every needle point is inspected before packing, so quality does not vary from box to box
  • Sterile, single use, latex free and non-pyrogenic - safe for clinical and at-home use
  • Box of 100 individually sterile syringes keeps a clinic room or home kit stocked for weeks
  • Daily subcutaneous insulin administration in home diabetes management
  • Medical centres, general practice and nurse treatment rooms drawing and giving measured subcutaneous doses
  • Aged care and community nursing rounds where a fine needle improves patient tolerance
  • Veterinary and allied health settings requiring accurate small-volume subcutaneous dosing
  • Workplace and school first aid rooms holding stock for staff or students who self-administer
  • Pharmacy and clinic retail shelves supplying repeat users of U-100 insulin

FAQs

Both are 31 gauge, so the puncture feels the same. The 6mm is the shorter option and is the one most often chosen for adults injecting into a pinched skin fold, because a shorter needle reduces the chance of reaching muscle. Follow the length your prescriber or diabetes educator has recommended.
The barrel is graduated to the U-100 scale, so 1mL equals 100 units. That lets larger doses be drawn and read in a single syringe rather than split across two.
No. The needle is permanently attached to the barrel and the whole syringe is single use. Removing or reusing it is not possible and is not safe.
Yes. The syringes are latex free, non-pyrogenic and supplied sterile, which suits users and clinics that need to avoid latex contact entirely.
Straight into a rigid, puncture-resistant sharps container, never into general waste. We stock a 90mL personal unit for travel and home use through to 60 litre clinic containers.
