Start from what the risk assessment identified. Eye protection rated for impact offers nothing against chemical splash. A cut-resistant glove gives no heat protection. A respirator filter for particulates does nothing about vapour. Fit is part of the specification rather than a comfort question, since loose equipment near machinery introduces a hazard of its own.
