Weight and finish decide the result. Anything under about 180gsm curls and reads as a printout rather than a photograph; 200gsm and above holds flat and feels like a print. Gloss gives depth and saturation but shows fingerprints, satin and lustre sit between, and matt kills reflections for anything going behind glass or under downlights. Check your printer handles the weight through its paper path before buying a box, since heavy stock jams feed rollers.
