Coloured Drawing Pencils

Core binder is the difference that shows on the page. Wax-based cores are softer, lay down colour quickly and blend readily, but they blunt fast and can leave a pale bloom on the surface over time. Oil-based cores hold a point far longer and suit detail and controlled work. Student ranges carry less pigment, so colour builds more slowly. See Derwent pencils, coloured pencils and sharpeners.
