Coloured Pencils

Wax-based cores are softer, lay colour down quickly and blend readily, at the cost of blunting fast. Oil-based cores hold a point far longer and suit controlled detail work. Pigment load then separates student from artist ranges, and it shows the moment you try to build colour in layers rather than on the first stroke.
