Jumbo Colouring Markers For Filling Big Areas Fast

Staedtler 340 WP12 is a wallet of 12 Noris jumbo colouring markers in assorted colours, thick-barrelled pens that lay down a broad band of colour.

Staedtler give the 340 a line of approximately 3.0 mm and a locked tip: under very heavy pressure the tip stays put instead of being pushed back into the barrel, which is the usual way a child's marker dies early. The barrel is polypropylene and chunky enough for small hands to hold without a pencil grip.

Colour-wise the wallet goes beyond the basics. The colour chart shows pink, light blue, light green, grey and brown alongside the primaries and black, so skies, grass and faces can be different shades rather than one flat green or blue. The ink is water-based, and in Staedtler's words it washes easily out of most textiles.

The clear wallet shows at a glance which colour is missing. Staedtler's current wallet carries underwater artwork; an earlier Noris Club version is shown further down.

FAQs

Staedtler say that even under extremely heavy pressure the tip stays locked in place and cannot be pushed back into the barrel. Heavy-handed young colourers are the reason it exists.
Twelve assorted colours. The Staedtler colour chart shows yellow, red, pink, light blue, a dark blue-grey, orange, dark green, light green, violet, brown, grey and black. Staedtler do not publish colour names for this wallet.
No. The 340 C12 is a cardboard box of 12 with its own barcode. This 340 WP12 is the clear wallet version.
Staedtler's current wallet with underwater artwork is pictured first. The earlier Noris Club wallet is also shown; either may be in stock.
Not really. A 3.0 mm line is for filling areas. For outlines and small spaces the 325 fibre-tip pen draws approximately 1.0 mm.
