Chunky Hexagonal Fibre-Tip Pens For First Colouring

Staedtler 329 C12 is a kraft box of 12 Noris junior fibre-tip pens in assorted colours, with the short, fat hexagonal barrel Staedtler shape for toddlers' little hands.

Three details make these different from a standard school felt pen. The barrel is hexagonal, so it is less inclined to roll off a tray or table. The tip is rounded, stable and locked, which Staedtler say stops it being pushed back into the barrel by heavy pressure. And the line is broad, approximately 2.5 mm, so a small child sees colour appear with little effort.

This box carries the full Noris junior palette of twelve. Going by the colour chart, orange, magenta, violet, light blue, a light green and black join the six colours of the C6 box. Staedtler specify a water-based ink that comes out of most textiles very easily.

A matching Peppa Pig edition (329 C12 L1) uses the same pen in a character box.

The 329 C6 has six basic colours. This 329 C12 has all twelve colours in the Noris junior range, adding orange, magenta, violet, light blue, a second green and black.
Staedtler state the ink washes out of most textiles very easily. Wash fresh marks promptly; results vary with fabric.
They can, but the broad 2.5 mm line suits filling shapes. School-age children usually want a finer pen such as the 325 at about 1.0 mm.
