Tapes

Two questions cover almost everything. What is the backing — film for clear wrapping, cloth for tearable strength, paper for masking and repair. And does it have to come off, because permanent grades bond harder over time and lift paint, veneer and paper when removed late. Width and core size then follow the dispenser.
