Board size follows the paper you actually use, and plenty of workplaces still run foolscap forms that overhang an A4 board and tear at the corners. Once that is settled, decide whether the sheets need covering. A plain board is faster to write on and lighter to carry; a clipfolder protects paper from weather and keeps completed forms out of sight on a site or ward. See clipfolders and desk accessories.
