Accurate small-volume dosing without the premium price

Livingstone builds this 1mL insulin syringe with a fixed 31 gauge, 8mm needle and a low dead space barrel, so almost nothing is left behind after the plunger bottoms out.

Dead space is the volume trapped between the plunger and the needle tip once the syringe is empty. On a detachable-needle syringe that trapped volume is wasted every single time. A fixed needle and a matched hub cut it to a minimum, which over a box of 100 injections adds up to a meaningful saving on the drug itself. The permanently attached cannula also removes the assembly step and the possibility of a needle working loose mid-injection.

The barrel carries a U-100 scale and a white plunger that reads clearly against the graduations, helping anyone measuring small doses in poor light or with reduced vision. Plunger travel is smooth enough for slow, controlled subcutaneous delivery.

Supplied sterile and single use in a box of 100. A sensible bulk line for clinics, aged care and anyone injecting daily.

Often ordered together:

  • 31 gauge x 8mm fixed needle draws and injects through one permanently attached cannula, so nothing is lost in a hub
  • Low dead space design leaves almost no residual insulin behind, stretching every vial further
  • 1mL barrel with a clear U-100 scale and a high-contrast white plunger for an easy dose read
  • Fixed needle removes the assembly step and the risk of a loose connection during injection
  • Sterile and single use, supplied in a sealed box of 100 for clinic or home stock rotation
  • Smooth plunger travel supports slow, controlled delivery of small subcutaneous volumes
  • Routine subcutaneous insulin dosing at home where cost per injection matters
  • Medical practices, community health and nurse-led clinics buying syringes by the box
  • Aged care facilities and disability services managing scheduled daily injections
  • Workplace first aid rooms and school health centres holding sharps stock
  • Veterinary practice for accurate small-volume subcutaneous administration

FAQs

Dead space is the volume left between the plunger and the needle tip once the syringe is emptied. On a syringe with a detachable needle that volume is discarded every time. A fixed needle and matched hub cut it to a minimum, so more of what you draw is actually delivered.
Both are 1mL, 31 gauge and U-100. The Embecta needle is 6mm and carries the Micro-Bonded lubricant coating; this Livingstone syringe uses an 8mm needle and costs noticeably less per box. Choose on needle length first, then price.
No. The needle is fixed to the barrel, which is what keeps the dead space low. The syringe is sterile and single use.
It means the barrel is marked in insulin units where 100 units equal 1mL. Doses are read directly off the printed graduations with no conversion needed.
In a rigid, puncture-resistant sharps container only. A 250mL unit suits a home or travel kit; treatment rooms usually run a 1.4 litre container or larger.
