The material rather than the adhesive is what fails first in a cool room, a wash bay or outdoor storage: paper lifts, softens and tears while the glue is still holding. Film resists water, abrasion and low temperature and keeps its adhesive there. The cost per label is higher, so keep them for environments that need it.
