Genuine Brother Black For The LC-40 Range
The genuine Brother LC-40BK prints approximately 300 pages and is the black cartridge for the DCP-J500, J700 and J900 series and the MFC-J400, J600 and J800 series.
Black is the cartridge that runs out first on almost every home and small office inkjet, because most of what a printer produces is text. The LC-40BK is Brother's own black tank for the LC-40 platform, with yield declared under ISO/IEC 24711 - the same standard test every manufacturer quotes against, which makes cost per page a fair comparison rather than a marketing number.
Brother formulates the ink for its own printheads, so density holds from the first page to the last and text edges stay sharp instead of feathering into plain copy paper. It is a separate tank from the colours, so the LC-40C, LC-40M and LC-40Y are replaced independently and nothing usable is discarded. The cartridge arrives sealed to stop the nozzle drying or the ink separating on the shelf.
Worth keeping a spare where the printer handles school work, invoices or anything with a deadline. Empty cartridges go back through the Brother recycling program run with Planet Ark.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements
Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier. Some items, including electronics, assembled or installed furniture, food, beverages, medicines, custom-made products, and certain bulk or special-order items, are not eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact Mega Office Supplies as soon as possible. Where required under Australian Consumer Law, a repair, replacement, or refund will be offered. In these cases, Mega Office Supplies will cover reasonable return shipping costs, and photographic evidence may be requested to help process the claim.
