Guest rooms and staff facilities pull in opposite directions here. Individually packaged soap and shampoo lose nothing on an unsold room and present well, at the highest cost per guest. Wall-mounted refill systems cut both cost and packaging waste, and increasingly satisfy sustainability requirements, provided housekeeping keeps them filled and clean. Presentation still counts.
