Manilla Folders Foolscap Light Blue Pack of 20

20 light blue manilla folders, foolscap at 355 x 241mm, manilla board that Avery's own page title puts at 186gsm. Avery code 88282.

A caveat on the board weight. Avery's specification table for the coloured folders publishes no weight at all; the figure of 186gsm comes from Avery's own page title for them. We are quoting it with that qualification rather than presenting it as a specification, and we have asked Avery to confirm it.

Manilla is the plain, uncoated board these have always been made from. Avery publishes one capacity figure for the range and it is a thickness, not a sheet count: the folder is pre-scored to accommodate up to 25mm of paper. We are not going to convert that into a number of sheets for you, because Avery does not.

On what the colour means: nothing, unless you decide it does. Avery publishes one sentence about colour across this whole range, with the colour name swapped in - that coloured folders are a good way to colour code your documents. There is no Avery scheme, no priority order, no department convention and no Australian filing standard behind any of it.

A correction. Our own listing for this code claimed that the colour carries a category, priority or status meaning and durability the manufacturer does not publish. None of it is published by Avery, so it has been removed.

Avery publishes no tear, burst or archival rating for manilla, no sheet capacity, and nothing about how long a folder lasts in use. The board weight is the only durability figure there is, which is why it leads this listing.

What these are for. Filing and document storage, colour separated filing where you set the scheme and archive and records boxes, and similar work.

It sits in our manilla folder range, alongside the wider foolscap manilla folder selection, our filing and storage category and everything else we carry from Avery.

FAQs

Avery's specification table for the coloured manilla folders publishes no weight. Their own page title says 186gsm, and that is the only figure there is, so we quote it as their page title rather than as a specification. The buff folders are published at 163gsm.
Only what you decide it means. The one sentence Avery publishes about colour, on every coloured code with the colour name swapped, is that coloured folders are a good way to colour code your documents. There is no Avery scheme, no priority order, no department convention and no Australian standard. If your office runs a colour system, it is your system.
Avery publishes a thickness, not a sheet count: pre-scored to accommodate up to 25mm of paper. How many sheets that is depends on your paper, so we are not going to turn it into a number.
Foolscap at 355 x 241mm. Avery uses the same 241mm depth for both formats and changes only the width, which is worth knowing if you are matching a drawer.
20 folders.
Avery publishes no archival, tear or burst rating for manilla, so we cannot tell you it will last a given number of years. What we can tell you is the board weight, which is the only durability figure in the range.
No sheet capacity, no tear or burst rating, no archival life, no colour coding scheme and, for the coloured folders, no board weight in the specification table. If any of that decides the purchase, ask us and we will put it to the supplier rather than guess.
Yes. Avery uses both words for this product and so does the trade, and our own catalogue has used them interchangeably for years - including the compound Manilla Folder File, which is not an Avery term at all. There is one product here, whatever it is called.
