TraumaSim Single Arm Emergency Tourniquet Trainer

TraumaSim's Emergency Tourniquet Trainer (ETT) was the world's first tourniquet training unit. This realistic and reactive skills trainer was designed to aid in tourniquet application and repeat training for lifesaving haemorrhage control.

Arterial bleeding can cause death in as little as 3 minutes, without immediate intervention a life can be lost. Applying a tourniquet correctly can be a lifesaving measure, however this is a skill that needs to be correctly taught, accurate technique experienced and then repeated to lock in the muscle memory.

The TraumaSim ETT has been designed and tested to replicate the type of pressure required to stop an actual arterial bleed. With the assistance of Australian Defence force medics who set the benchmark for the development of this training aid, certifying the realistic visuals, haemorrhaging response and overall nature of the training aid are akin to the human body. If it is hard to stop your TraumaSim ETT from bleeding this is because it is hard to stop an actual arterial bleed.

The ETT is available in two versions, a Leg or Arm amputation, both have the capacity to bleed and when correct tourniquet technique is used the bleeding will occlude. The unit can be used as a wet or dry training aid, however TraumaSim rate realism as one of the most important training tools, so outside with the bleeding function operating will give you the best simulation result. By using the 5-litre hand pump, pumped 5 times to simulate the correct pressure, red food dye and clamps your unit can be used repeatedly by trainees ensuring they completely understand the required skill, strength and confidence required to safely use a tourniquet.

The ETT unit is incredibly robust and has been used by Defence Forces, Special Operations, Medics, Police, Paramedics, Emergency Responders, First Aid Trainers, Fire and Rescue services, Hospitals and Universities around the globe.
