• The technology used with this type of toner cartridge is known as laser processing. To produce the image, a laser provides a static electricity charge in the form of a reverse image onto a photoconductor drum assembly. The paper then goes at just the right time between the drum photoconductor and the toner roller. The toner particles housed on the roller inside the toner cartridge get attracted to only the charged areas. The toner sticks to the paper instead of the charge roller because the media is in between the charge roller and the drum. It is then transported to a fusing unit, which compresses and melts the toner into the to cure the adhesion.
• Print volume per cartridge is approximately 30000 pages at 5% page coverage*.
• Being an important part of the laser printer the primary function of drum unit is to attract toner particles. They attract the toner particles as these are charged with the opposite electric charges. Drum unit is also known as an imaging unit.
