Description

Derwent #32868 Watercolour Pencil Blue Grey 68 - Box 6

Unique versatile pencil combines the control of a pencil with the subtle beauty of watercolour. Great to use and you can mix them with water to create interesting colour flows. They’re not as bright as Inktense so they’re ideal if you like to do more subtle paintings. Of course, you can use them dry and because they have such a soft texture you will find them easy to blend and layer. Watercolour is not permanent like Inktense, so once the colour is dry you can re-wet it and move it about again.

Product Features:

  • Can be used wet or dry allowing you to draw and paint with complete control.
  • Combine the control of a pencil with the subtle beauty of the watercolour medium.
  • Soft, smooth, 3.5mm water soluble strip for painting and drawing, ideal for mixed media work
  • Pencil barrel hexagonal in shape, for greater control with detailed work
  • Highly pigmented to allow maximum colour purity and light fastness
  • Water soluble strip encased in Californian incense cedar wood for easy handling and sharpening
  • Available in a variety of tin sizes and pencils sold individually.

Derwent Story

From humble origins to 1 million pencils a week

Our story begins in the heart of the Lake District with the discovery of graphite in the Borrowdale Valley and the birth of pencil making in Keswick.By the 1800s pencil making in Keswick was a thriving cottage industry.TheCumberland Pencil Companycreated its first pencil in 1832 and the first Derwent art colour pencil was introduced in 1938. Our Pencil Museum still stands on the site of our original factory in Keswick. Derwent has continued to be proud of its Cumbrian roots and in 2008 a purpose-built factory was opened in Lillyhall.

At Derwent, we continue to evolve and improve not only our traditional pencils but also to introduce new innovative products serving generations of artists and hobbysits.
