A reverse charge is then applied below the page to then pull down the image from the drum assembly onto the waiting sheet of paper. The printed sheet is then transported to a fusing unit, where the granules of toner in the form of the image are melted and impregnated into the fibres of the paper so that it becomes permanently attached. The page then is fed from the printer onto an exit tray ready for operators use and possibly additional processing.
