A volumetric flask does one job precisely: it holds exactly the stated volume when filled to the line. That is what standard solutions and accurate dilutions need, and it is why a beaker or a measuring cylinder will not do.

Tolerance is plus or minus 0.80ml on 1000ml - Grade B, which is the standard grade for school and general laboratory work. It is calibrated to contain 1000ml at 20 degrees C.

Never heat one. The supplier is explicit: volumetric flasks must not go on a hotplate or over a bunsen. Heating changes the glass volume and the calibration goes with it. Dishwashers and autoclaving at 121 degrees C are fine and do not affect accuracy.

The stoppers are chemical-resistant polyethylene to DIN 12664 with a 24/29 socket. Read the meniscus with the flask vertical and the line at eye level - parallax is the biggest source of error in practice, well ahead of the flask itself.

No. The supplier states plainly that volumetric flasks should not be exposed to direct heat from hotplates or bunsen burners. Heating a calibrated vessel destroys the calibration.
