Warm Orange For Autumn, Citrus And Sunsets

This pack contains ten Staedtler pigment brush pens in colour 4, orange, article 371-4: a clear, warm mid orange for autumn scenes, fruit and lettering that needs heat.

Orange does a lot of heavy lifting in illustration. It is autumn leaves and pumpkins, oranges and mandarins, a fox or a tabby cat, flames and the glowing band of a sunset. For lettering it gives a warm headline on a menu board sketch or a Halloween card, and it looks sharp outlined in intense black 99 once dry.

Staedtler count orange among their basics, so it turns up in the Basic Colours twelve (371 C12-1), the Warm Colours twelve (C12-5) and the Yellows and Oranges six (C6-5). Because it is used so widely, it is often the first pen in a set to run dry, which is when a pack of ten single pens is handy.

Multi Ink is Staedtler's pigment India ink for the 371. They say it dries quickly, will not bleed through the sheet, and is permanent and waterproof. For a softer look, lay yellow 1 first and pull orange into it while wet.
