10 x 10g nickel-plated iron slotted weights plus a weight hanger with a hook. $20.00.

Slotted weights are how you make a variable hanging mass. The slot lets each disc drop onto the hanger stem without unthreading anything, so a student changes the load in seconds during an experiment rather than between them.

What they are for. Hooke's Law with springs, force and acceleration work, pulley systems, moments on a metre rule - anything where the load needs to change in known steps. Ten grams is a fine enough step for a school spring.

One thing to check yourself. The supplier does not publish the mass of the hanger. In an experiment where the total hanging mass matters, weigh the hanger once on a balance and add it in - do not assume it is zero or a round number. We have asked them for the figure.

Nickel-plated iron, so they resist rust better than bare steel and stand up to being dropped. Springs, pulleys and clamps are sold separately.

Nickel plating resists rust far better than bare steel, but the slot edges are the weak point. Keep them dry and they last for years.

No, opposite jobs. Plastic hexagonal weights sit on a balance pan; these hang from a hanger. Buy the plastic set for mass comparison and these for force work.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements

Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier.
