The Brother PT-E310BTVP has general, faceplate, cable wrap, cable flag, patch panel, punch block and heat shrink tube modes on the machine itself, so the label shape is a menu choice rather than a workaround.

This is a trade tool rather than an office labeller. It ships as a value pack with a rechargeable Li-ion battery, a protective carry case, a wrist strap, a ruler card and a starter cassette of 18mm flexible identification tape, so it is ready for a first job out of the box. The cutter is deliberately manual, which Brother specifies for industrial use, and a cut and pause function keeps a run together until you want it separated.

It takes Brother TZe and HGe cassettes up to 18mm, and HSe heat shrink tube up to 11.2mm on 3:1 ratio. Design on the machine with the QWERTY keyboard, or over Bluetooth and USB Type-C from the Pro Label Tool app or P-touch Editor 6.

Replacement cassettes are in the Brother TZe tape range in 3.5mm to 18mm, and printed conductor sleeving is in Brother heat shrink tube and speciality media in the smaller diameters. For 24mm tape and 21mm tube, step up to the Brother PT-E560BTVP.

Brother TZe and HGe cassettes in 3.5mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm and 18mm. Eighteen millimetres is the ceiling. A 24mm TZe cassette will not fit this machine. If you need 24mm, the PT-E560BTVP is the equivalent industrial model that takes it.

On 3:1 ratio tube it takes 5.2mm, 9.0mm and 11.2mm, which covers cable diameters from 0.8mm up to 7.0mm. It will not take the 21.0mm HSe cassettes, which need a PT-E560BTVP, PT-P700, PT-P750W, PT-P900W or PT-P950NW. The 31mm cassettes need a PT-P900W or PT-P950NW.

No. The value pack includes the BA-E001 rechargeable Li-ion battery, which charges over the supplied USB A to C cable in about three hours. The PA-AD-004 mains adapter is an optional extra and is not in the box.

No, and that is deliberate. Brother specifies a robust manual cutter for industrial use. The cut and pause function holds the machine after printing so a run of labels stays together until you separate it. Half cut is not available on this model, only on the PT-E560BT and PT-E510.
