Artline 409 Paint Marker 4.0mm Chisel Black Box of 12

Between 2mm and 4mm, depending on which edge of the chisel nib you use. ACCO lists a 4.0mm nib size and a 2-4mm line width, and the barrel prints 2.0 and 4.0.

The 409XF box front prints For use on steel, rubber, timber, plastic and other materials, and ACCO says the opaque ink remains vibrant even on dark or transparent surfaces. Try it on a hidden area first when the finish matters.

ACCO describes the ink as quick drying and highly water and fade resistant, and Artline's website says UV light resistant. Neither publishes a test standard or a time period, so we do not add one.

ACCO's listing says it can withstand exposure to temperatures up to 100°C, but does not say whether that refers to the marker or the dried mark. ACCO's safety data sheet rates the ink as a highly flammable liquid with a flash point of 3°C for black, and says keep it away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks and open flames.

Yes. ACCO's safety data sheet for the Artline 400XF, 409XF, 440XF and 444XF paint markers, revised 13 Dec 2023, is attached to this page. It uses the signal word DANGER, describes a minor solvent odour and says keep out of reach of children. ACCO gives no age rating, so we make no claim about use by children.
