Read this first: the supplier gives two different colour counts
Zart's own description calls this a "water-soluble 6-colour pan set" in one paragraph and a "12-colour pan set" in the next. We do not know which is right and we are not going to pick the flattering one. We have asked them. If the count matters to you - and at $15.00 it probably does - ask us before you order and we will confirm it.
What it is
A tin of semi-moist, water-soluble pan watercolours in deep muted tones with graphite and charcoal undertones. $15.00.
This is not a normal watercolour set and that is the point. Every colour is knocked back with charcoal, so the whole palette sits in the greys, slates and muted earths. A student cannot make it garish, which is oddly freeing - the work comes out looking considered.
You can take colour back off. Lift it while wet with a clean brush, or use an eraser on dry work to pull soft highlights out. That changes how the medium is taught: it stops being a one-way commitment.
Highly saturated pigment, so muted does not mean weak.
Reusable tin that closes and travels. Clean-up is rinsing a brush.
Use heavier paper. Zart recommends watercolour, Yupo, mineral or mixed media paper and a higher gsm for advanced technique - which is sound advice, because lifting and reworking is what destroys light paper.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements
Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier. Some items, including electronics, assembled or installed furniture, food, beverages, medicines, custom-made products, and certain bulk or special-order items, are not eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact Mega Office Supplies as soon as possible. Where required under Australian Consumer Law, a repair, replacement, or refund will be offered. In these cases, Mega Office Supplies will cover reasonable return shipping costs, and photographic evidence may be requested to help process the claim.
