Flaking is the reason charcoal gets banned from classrooms. Natural willow and vine charcoal crumble as you draw - onto the desk, the floor, the uniform and the drawing next door. Compressed charcoal is bound into a solid stick and holds together, which is the difference between charcoal being a lesson you run and one you stopped running.
It is harder, so it is controllable. A student can press for a deep black or lay it flat for a broad tone without the stick breaking every time.
The black is stronger than natural charcoal - denser and richer, which is what makes a tonal drawing read.
Less waste. Natural charcoal ends the lesson as dust in a tray. These do not.
Twelve sticks at 93c covers a small group properly, or a class if they share.
What is not published
Zart does not state the stick dimensions or the hardness grade (soft, medium or hard). Both matter if you are matching an existing set, so we have asked rather than guessing. If you need a specific grade, tell us before you order.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements
Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier. Some items, including electronics, assembled or installed furniture, food, beverages, medicines, custom-made products, and certain bulk or special-order items, are not eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact Mega Office Supplies as soon as possible. Where required under Australian Consumer Law, a repair, replacement, or refund will be offered. In these cases, Mega Office Supplies will cover reasonable return shipping costs, and photographic evidence may be requested to help process the claim.
