Size 1 Flat Hog Hair Brush for the Finest Edges

Size 1 is the smallest X-Press It hog hair flat brush, a narrow square-tipped bristle head for crisp edges, tiny blocks of colour and tight corners.

Hog hair is a firm natural bristle, so it pushes acrylic and poster paint around rather than flooding it, and a flat head this small leaves a neat, square-ended mark. Students reach for a size 1 when painting window frames on a house, the stripes on a flag or the outline of a lettered sign. It is sold individually from the plain timber handled range.

Turning the brush on its edge gives an even finer line, so one tool covers both thin strokes and small filled shapes. Buying single brushes lets a teacher replace the sizes that wear out fastest without buying another full set. It also suits touch-ups on painted models.

Pair it with tubes and pots from our acrylic paints range, add bigger flats for backgrounds from the craft paint brushes range, and keep palettes, water pots and rags from painting accessories close by on the desk.

FAQs

You receive one size 1 hog hair flat brush. It is not a set, so add other sizes separately.
X-Press Graph-X does not publish a head width for this size, so we have not quoted a millimetre figure. It is the smallest flat in this hog hair range.
Stiff hog bristle is better suited to thicker paint like acrylic and poster colour. For watercolour washes a soft synthetic or sable-style brush holds more water.
The image is a range photo of the hog hair flat brush rather than a size 1 close-up, so the head you receive will be narrower than it may look.
