Uni's standard red PWE-5M comes as one liquid chalk marker with a medium bullet nib, for chalkboards, shop glass and other non-porous surfaces.

Red is the colour of a markdown. A crossed out price with the new one beside it, a half price sign on the front window or a sold out note on the specials board all work best in red because shoppers are already primed to look for it. Used sparingly on a mostly white board, it draws the eye to the one change that matters today.

Because the ink is a water-based paint that Uni say wipes off, the sale sign comes down as easily as it went up. The Australian Uni page rates it for rain and names a damp cloth for removal. The range is intended for non-porous surfaces, and Uni rule porous ones out.

This standard red is the one for prices and sale messages that need to stand out. The metallic red PWE-5M has a shinier, more decorative finish suited to festive displays.
Uni Australia list red in the PWE-5M assorted pack of 8. It is not in the pack of 4.
It sits in the middle of the range, finer than the PWE-8K chisel and broader than the PWE-3MS. Uni's published figures for the PWE-5M line width vary between their sites, so we have not quoted a number.
Uni Australia rate it for rain, Uni UK add within reason, and neither gives a duration, so check an outdoor sign after heavy weather.
Painted frames may be porous or textured, and Uni state the marker is not for porous surfaces. Keep it to the glass itself.
