A Soft Pastel Blue For Gentler Signs

This is a single Uni PWE-5M liquid chalk marker in Light Blue, a medium bullet tip in a calm pastel shade for boards and glass that should look friendly rather than shout.

Not every sign needs to compete with a sale window. A breakfast menu, a gelato cabinet, a baby shower welcome board or a nursery door reads better in pastels, and light blue pairs cleanly with white on a black background. It also gives a board a cool section: cold drinks, seafood, the frozen treats. It is also one of the four colours in the Uni PWE-5M assorted wallet, next to pink, yellow and white.

The ink is water based and Uni point it at non-porous surfaces, listing glass and window surfaces, mirrors and metal. In their words it stays on in rain within reason and washes off with a damp cloth. Porous surfaces are not suitable, and chalkboard advice varies between Uni sites, as covered below.
