A Softer Second Colour For Menus And Glass

Uni PWE-8K light blue comes as one marker, filled with liquid chalk and cut to a roughly 8mm chisel, for broad, pale blue lettering on boards, glass and any smooth surface that will not absorb ink.

Not every line on a board needs to shout. Light blue sits between white and the fluorescent shades: clear enough to read on black, gentle enough for a drinks list, a gelato flavour board or the section headings of a long menu. It pairs naturally with white for a two-tone board, and it is a common pick for baby showers, winter promotions and anything with an ice or water theme. The chisel shape gives a wide stroke flat on and a narrow one on its edge.

Uni call the ink a water-based paint. It stays put in the rain and cleans off with a damp cloth. Glass, windows, mirrors and metal are the listed surfaces, and Uni also note that porous ones are not suitable.

Yes. It is pale enough to contrast with black while being softer than white or the fluorescent colours, which is why it suits secondary lines such as descriptions or drink sizes.
It shows, but light colours on clear glass depend on what is behind them. Against a dark interior it reads well; against a bright street or white wall it can fade into the background.
No. Light blue is a plain, non-metallic shade. Uni make metallic blue as a separate colour in the same PWE-8K chisel marker.
Uni say porous surfaces are not suitable, so avoid raw timber, paper, cardboard and unsealed chalkboards, which can hold the colour.
