The Uni PWE-8K in fluorescent yellow is a single liquid chalk marker with an 8mm approx. chisel tip, for broad, bright lettering on chalkboards, glass and other surfaces that do not soak up ink.

Yellow against black is a long-standing high contrast pairing in sign writing, and a fluorescent yellow on a dark chalkboard makes figures easy to pick out. That is why it so often gets the job of writing prices, opening hours and the headline offer, leaving white for the descriptions underneath. On glass it works best where the backdrop is dark, such as a shop interior after hours. Hold it flat for heavy numerals and on edge for neat rules between menu items.

Uni describe the marker as a water-based paint pen. The colour stays on in the rain, wipes away with a damp cloth, and is intended for glass, windows, mirrors and metal. Porous surfaces are excluded in Uni's own wording.

FAQs

It contrasts strongly with a dark board, so numbers stand apart from the white description text. Many cafes use yellow for figures and white for words.
Against a dark interior, yes. With a bright street or light wall behind the glass, pale yellow can be hard to see, so a darker colour may be the better choice there.
A whiteboard has a smooth, non-porous face, but pale yellow on white is hard to read. It is far better on black boards or dark glassboards.
Uni say a damp cloth removes it from suitable surfaces. Some older or worn chalkboards can hold a faint ghost, so test on a corner of the board you plan to use.
