Heavy black lines for light glass and outline work

Uni PWE-17K Black is a 15mm extra broad chisel liquid chalk marker in black, made for bold, dark wording and thick outlines where the background is light.

A black chalk marker sounds odd until you look at where most glass sits. White glass boards, frosted partitions, windows backed by a bright display and pale metal all need a dark line to be legible, and black gives the strongest contrast there. Window artists also use a thick black outline as the frame for a design, then fill the shapes with brighter colours so each one looks cleaner and more deliberate.

Uni sum it up as staying on in the rain and washing off with a damp cloth, on glass, windows, mirrors, metal and chalkboards. Porous materials are not recommended. From the uni UK data sheet: a water-based paint pen, polyester chisel, capped with a clip, no refill and not smudge resistant.

For light backgrounds. On white glass boards, frosted glass and windows with a bright display behind them, black is far easier to read than white or pastel shades.
No. Black on a black board has almost no contrast. For blackboards choose white, a fluoro or a metallic colour.
Uni list glass as a suitable surface and say the ink wipes off with a damp cloth. Some glass boards have special coatings, so try a small corner and check the board maker guidance first.
Uni describe it as removable with a damp cloth on metal. Painted or powder coated metal can behave differently, so test first.
Uni list the chisel at 15mm on its broad face. The narrow edge draws a much finer line.
