Six Pigment Brush Pens In Earth Browns And Neutral Greys

Staedtler 371 C6-4 is the Greys and Caramels box: six pigment brush pens in 16 golden ochre, 790 umber, 730 sienna raw, 840 warm grey light, 84 warm grey medium and 87 cool grey medium.

Most colour sets lead with brights. This one is built from the colours that sit underneath them: three earth tones and three greys. The caramels cover wood, sand, fur, feathers and skin shadows; the greys handle shading, stone, metal and overcast skies. Used together they make a limited palette for sepia style sketches, animal studies and still life, and the greys can shade any brighter set you already own.

Staedtler's Multi Ink is a water-based, translucent India ink made with pigments. Layer a colour to deepen it, lay two side by side while wet to blend them, or draw outlines and paint over them once dry without smudging, all techniques Staedtler list for the ink. They also say it does not bleed through paper and stays permanent and waterproof. Staedtler's current pack photo shows the Artist Series box printed with the six colour numbers.

FAQs

16 golden ochre, 790 umber, 730 sienna raw, 840 warm grey light, 84 warm grey medium and 87 cool grey medium.
Yes. We sell each of the six singly in lots of ten: 371-16, 371-790, 371-730, 371-840, 371-84 and 371-87.
This set is built around browns and greys. Black is sold separately as 371-99 intense black and 371-90 light black.
Most likely. Staedtler's current packaging is the Artist Series box in our photos. Older stock came in a pigmentArts pen box; both carry article number 371 C6-4 and the same six colours.
Staedtler say the colour-neutral blender 893 dissolves the dried Multi Ink, which opens up wash and gradient effects.
Staedtler list Germany as the country of manufacture for the pigment brush pen 371.
