Permanent Alizarine Free Flow Artists' Acrylic, 60ml
Permanent Alizarine is a deep claret red for roses, wine, cherries, plum shadows and rich glazed reds.
The swatch shows a dark claret at full strength that thins to a dusky rose pink at the lighter edge. The label on this claret reads Atelier Free Flow Artists' Acrylic. This deep claret is Series 4, marked transparent. Pigment for this alizarine: PR.175 and PR.122. Lightfastness for this claret: ASTM 1. The deep claret shows British Woolscale 8:8:8. Permanentalizarin (German), Alizarine Permanente (French) and Alizarina Permanente (Spanish) also appear.
A 60ml alizarine bottle suits a studio palette or travel kit for rose studies, wine still life and dark warm glazes. Marked transparent, the deep claret lets earlier layers show through, so the alizarine suits glazing. The flip-top cap gives small squeezes of the claret.
Build a palette around this claret from the acrylic paint range. Lay in claret wine using paint brushes, and paint the deep claret onto canvases and paper. Keep the alizarine kit tidy with painting accessories.
