Flat is the shape you want for covering ground. A round brush paints a line and fills an area slowly. A flat brush lays a band of colour in one stroke, blocks in a background, and gives a clean edge when you turn it on its side. For skies, washes and hard-edged shapes it does in one pass what a round does in five.
The water is in the handle. Unscrew, fill, screw back, paint. No pot on the table, so nothing to knock over, nothing to queue at the sink for, and no shared water going brown by the second student.
That makes them the excursion brush. A sketchbook, a small palette and these, and a class can paint on a field trip without carrying water.
$6.04 each, and they are refillable rather than disposable.
Two things Zart does not publish
The width of the flat head. "Flat" covers everything from a 6mm one-stroke to a 25mm wash brush, and those are completely different tools. We have asked. Tell us what you need it for and we will chase it.
Whether these have a flow-control valve. Zart's page does not say either way. Their medium round water brush explicitly says it has none, so we would assume the same here rather than the opposite. We have asked.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements
Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier. Some items, including electronics, assembled or installed furniture, food, beverages, medicines, custom-made products, and certain bulk or special-order items, are not eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact Mega Office Supplies as soon as possible. Where required under Australian Consumer Law, a repair, replacement, or refund will be offered. In these cases, Mega Office Supplies will cover reasonable return shipping costs, and photographic evidence may be requested to help process the claim.
