Handheld ECG Monitor for Home Recording

The Wellcare Portable ECG Monitor is a handheld, rechargeable ECG recorder with metal electrodes, a colour screen, Bluetooth to a mobile app and USB connection to a computer.

Its manual and ARTG entry (524625) give the intended purpose as to "monitor and record the user's ECG waveform and HR", for adults at home, with records that can be printed via a computer as a "data reference for doctors". The manual lists a heart rate range of 30 to 300 bpm with an error of ±1 bpm or 1%, and a sampling rate of 250 samples per second.

Readings are taken through the top and bottom electrodes, and Wellcare's images show four positions: hand to wrist, chest, leg and hand. Results can be sent to an iOS or Android app over Bluetooth or moved to PC software by USB. The monitor measures 100 x 45 x 15 mm and weighs about 57 g.
