Infrared Thermometer for Ear and Forehead Readings

The Wellcare Infrared Thermometer is an ear and forehead thermometer with adult, child, ear and surface modes, an LED screen and a 40-reading memory.

Its ARTG entry (510266) gives the intended purpose as to "take human body temperature via the eardrum or forehead", with forehead mode for all ages and ear mode for people over three months, in professional and home use. The device manual lists accuracy of ±0.2°C within 32.0 to 42.9°C and ±0.3°C outside that range, with 0.1°C resolution.

Switching between ear and forehead lets one thermometer serve a household, a sick bay or a first aid room. The published measurement time is about 1 second, the cap comes off to reveal the ear probe, the memory holds 40 readings, and it switches off after 30 seconds without use.
