Fingertip Pulse Oximeter with a Multi-Directional OLED Screen

The Wellcare Pulse Oximeter is a fingertip oximeter with an OLED display that shows oxygen saturation (SpO2), pulse rate and perfusion index, running on 2 x AAA batteries.

Its ARTG entry (510208) gives the intended purpose as "spot-checking of oxygen saturation and pulse rate" at the finger of adult patients, and notes it is not intended for use under motion or low perfusion. The device manual adds that it is not intended for neonates or infants. The display turns to 4 directions, and the unit switches off after 15 seconds without a signal.

It clips onto one finger and has a single power button, which suits a first aid room, a clinic bench or a visiting carer's bag. The device manual lists an SpO2 display range of 35 to 100% and a pulse rate range of 25 to 250 bpm, and about 24 hours of continuous use on 600 mAh AAA cells.
