A Warm Metallic, Between Gold and Brown

Bronze is the warmest of the 8 metallic colours uni-ball names for the Signo Noble Metal UM-120NM, a range uni-ball publishes as a waterproof pigment ink laying a 0.8mm line.

Bronze is the colour you want when gold is too loud for the job. It carries the same metallic sheen but pulls towards brown, so it settles into kraft board and recycled stock rather than sitting on top of them the way a bright gold does. On black it reads closer to antique than celebration, which suits menus, labels and anything meant to look considered.

The ink is a pigment rather than a dye, which is why it holds its colour on a dark sheet, and uni-ball publishes it as both waterproof and acid free. Bronze is one of 8 metallic colours in the UM-120NM range. Mega lists it as a box of 12, all bronze.

Gold and silver, the two obvious neighbours, are over at gel pens with the rest of the eight. The full uni-ball shelf is at uni-ball, and everything else that writes is under pens and writing supplies.

FAQs

Bronze keeps the metallic sheen but sits browner and deeper, so it reads as antique rather than celebratory. On kraft and recycled board it sits into the stock, where a bright gold tends to float above it. uni-ball names both as separate colours in the range.
A pigment ink stays on the surface rather than soaking in, which is why metallics are the usual choice for kraft. uni-ball publishes no surface list for this pen, so test an offcut before committing to a long run of tags.
Eight. uni-ball's own product page says the pen is available in 8 metallic colours but names none of them, and only five colour images appear there. The eight are named on uni-ball's page for the UM-120NM8P eight piece wallet: blue, green, violet, pink, red, gold, silver, bronze. That page is where we take the colour names from, rather than reading them off image filenames.
uni-ball does not publish whether UM-120NM is capped or retractable, so we are not going to state it either way. uni-ball's own product page lists the code, the tip size and the ink, and stops there. The product photography is the best guide until we can confirm it from the pack.
Not one that uni-ball publishes for UM-120NM. Several codes in the Signo family have a sheet and this one does not, so there is no classification or handling statement for us to pass on. We will not borrow a sheet from a neighbouring Signo code, because the ink is not the same ink.
Twelve, all bronze. This is a single colour box rather than an assortment. If you want the eight colours together, the eight piece wallet is a separate line.
