Black 0.5 mm Pigment Liner For Outlines And Lettering
Staedtler 308 05-9 is the black pigment liner with a 0.5 mm line, in Staedtler's box of 10.
At 0.5 mm the line has real presence: it is the width for outer contours in illustration, for hand lettering and headings, for signing documents and for diagrams that will be scanned or photocopied. It also writes smoothly enough to be a daily pen.
According to Staedtler the ink resists erasing and fading and is waterproof on paper, and it will not bleed if you run a highlighter over it. Their catalogue calls it acid free. Left open, a black liner keeps writing for at least 12 hours, per Staedtler, and the long metal tip slides along rulers and templates.
Staedtler make the 308 in Germany, with a PP barrel and airplane-safe pressure equalisation. Staedtler also make the 0.5 mm in colours, including blue 308 05-3.
