Metal-Insert Tub Sharpener In A Box Of Ten

This listing is a box of 10 Staedtler 511 001 tub sharpeners, the silver and blue STAEDTLER design with a metal sharpener insert and a single hole for standard pencils.

The 511 001 takes standard blacklead pencils up to 8.2 mm in diameter. Staedtler set the blade at a 23 degree sharpening angle, which they say gives clear and accurate lines, and mount it in a metal insert rather than the plastic housing found on cheaper tubs.

Shavings drop into a clear lower tub with a hinged cover, so nothing spills onto desks or into bags. Staedtler add a safety lock to the lid to stop it opening by accident; the top of the lid is marked graphite and a PRESS tab on the side opens it for emptying.

Ten in a box makes sense for a classroom set, a stationery cupboard or a staff room drawer, where one sharpener per desk or per group saves queues at a shared wall sharpener.
