Two Holes, Two Angles, One Metal Sharpener

Staedtler 510 20 is a single metal double-hole sharpener: one hole for standard pencils, one for thick pencils, each with its own sharpening angle.

The smaller hole takes standard-sized graphite pencils up to 8.2 mm across and cuts a 23 degree point, which Staedtler pitch for clear, accurate lines. The larger hole takes thick graphite and coloured pencils up to 10.2 mm and cuts a blunter 30 degree point for broad, soft lines.

The body is a compact silver metal block with ridged sides, STAEDTLER moulded along the top and graphite along one end, with each blade held by its own screw. There is no shavings container, so it is best used over a bin or desk tidy.

Staedtler assign the larger 30 degree hole to thick graphite and coloured pencils up to 10.2 mm. The smaller 23 degree hole is for standard graphite pencils.
No. It is an open metal sharpener. For a lidded container, see the 512 006 double-hole tub sharpener.
Pencils up to 10.2 mm go in the larger hole. Anything wider, such as Noris junior pencils, needs the Noris junior 514 16 sharpener.
