A Softer, Darker Everyday Pencil

This is a box of 12 Staedtler tradition 110-2B pencils, the grade to reach for when an HB feels too pale but you still want a pencil that writes as well as it draws.

2B sits two steps on the soft side of HB. It gives a noticeably blacker line on ordinary paper without the heavy smudging of the very soft grades, so it works for handwriting, colouring outlines, mind maps and first sketches alike.

Staedtler pitch the tradition at writing, drawing and sketching alike. Two things, they say, keep it from snapping: a special lead formulation, and lead that is super-bonded. In the hand they promise a velvet soft surface and smooth gliding lead. The red and black barrels are printed STAEDTLER tradition 2B in gold, and Staedtler state the range is made in Germany.

A box of 12 covers a family, a small class or a studio desk for a good while. For big groups the same grade comes as a cup of 100.

Yes. B grades are softer and darker than HB, and 2B is two steps softer, so the line is blacker but rubs off on your hand a little more.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements

Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier.
