A Deep Ink Blue For Formal Script And Addresses

Staedtler 375-36 is the indigo blue pigment calligraphy pen, supplied as ten pens.

Before ballpoints, most formal writing was done in dark blue ink, and indigo recalls that fountain pen look. It suits envelope addressing, signatures on awards, formal invitations, copperplate style practice with a chisel and nautical or winter themed cards. Against white or cream stock it is nearly as strong as black but reads warmer and more personal.

With a chisel tip of approx. 2.0 mm, per Staedtler, indigo lettering keeps crisp thick and thin contrast. Multi Ink is pigment based and waterproof once dry, so an addressed envelope caught in the rain keeps its lines, and the ink does not bleed through paper according to Staedtler. For a lighter blue accent, turquoise 35 is also in the 375 range; violet 6 sits beside it for a cool pairing.

Formal writing tools: calligraphy pens, fibre tip markers, art markers and Staedtler.

FAQs

Ten indigo pens per order line. Staedtler catalogue 375-36 as one pen without a box size; ten is the quantity we sell.
It is a very deep blue. On white or cream card it reads strongly, but with a visible blue tone rather than neutral black.
Staedtler describe Multi Ink as waterproof and permanent once fully dry, so light rain should not wash the writing off.
Turquoise 35 in the same 375 range gives a brighter accent, and violet 6 makes a cooler pair.
