Turquoise 35, A Bright Blue Green For Water And Feathers

The ten Staedtler 371-35 pigment brush pens in this listing are colour 35, turquoise, a clean bright blue green.

Turquoise is the colour of shallow reef water, a peacock neck, a kingfisher, a painted beach hut or a succulent in a pot. It is often the colour that makes a tropical or summery page, and in lettering it gives a fresh, cheerful headline that still reads well on white.

Where the water gets deeper, layer pacific blue 39 over dried turquoise; where it shallows onto sand, lay mint 505 alongside while wet and let the two merge. Because Staedtler's Multi Ink is translucent, a second coat of 35 over itself gives a richer turquoise rather than a new colour. Once dry, white or metallic details can be added over the top.

Staedtler include turquoise in Greens and Turquoises 371 C6-3, Pastel Colours 371 C12-2, and the 24 and 36 colour boxes. For lettering with a chisel stroke there is also the pigment calligraphy pen in the same colour, 375-35.
