Plum 68, A Berry Purple With Depth

Plum is Staedtler 371 colour 68, a rich berry purple, and you receive ten 371-68 pigment brush pens in this listing.

Plum sits between the pinks and the violets, a shade deeper and cooler than red violet 61. That makes it useful wherever a red needs to fall back into shadow without turning brown: the folded centre of a peony, the dark side of a fig or a bunch of grapes, the throat of a foxglove. On its own it makes striking brush lettering for invitations with a jewel tone theme.

Being a translucent pigment ink, plum can be layered to go darker, or pulled over dried pink to shade it. Staedtler describe the ink as fast drying and waterproof, so it holds up if you later add a watercolour wash round the drawing.
