Bold 1.0 mm Black For Borders And Frames

Staedtler 308 10-9 is a black pigment liner with a line of roughly 1.0 mm, supplied as a box of 10.

A millimetre-wide line is a graphic line. It frames a drawing, draws title blocks and borders on presentation sheets, fills small areas solid, and gives hand lettering on posters real weight. It is also a sensible pen for marking file covers and labels where a thinner liner looks faint.

The ink is Staedtler's black pigment ink: indelible, lightfast, waterproof on paper and acid free, erasable on drafting film and safe to highlight over without bleeding. Staedtler say you can leave the cap off for 12 hours or more without the tip drying. Its long metal tip still works along a ruler, and pressure equalisation stops leaks in an aircraft cabin.

For everyday notes most people prefer 0.3 to 0.5 mm. The 1.0 mm is better for headings, borders, labels and filling in.
It will fill small areas well. For big solid blacks a marker is quicker; the liner is best for lines and edges.
Staedtler describe the ink as lightfast and say writing stays clearly legible years later.
