ScotchBlue Original Painter's Tape 2090 36mm x 54.8m Blue Each

One roll, 36 mm wide. 3M's roll label gives 54.8 m (60 yd), while our supplier lists it as 36 mm x 55 m, so we use 3M's figure. It is sold as a single roll, not a pack.

3M says it can stay on surfaces for up to 14 days and then removes without leaving sticky residue, indoors or out. The roll core reads remove within 14 days.

Yes. The roll core says to test before use and not to use the tape with or on lacquer, wallcoverings, unpainted wallboard or wood, so read the full caution on the core before you start. 3M lists smooth or lightly textured walls, trim, baseboards, tile and glass as suitable.

Both are the same ScotchBlue Original 2090 tape. The 36 mm roll covers a wider margin, which helps along ceilings and broad trim, while the 24 mm roll suits narrower frames and switch plates.

Apply it to a clean, dry, dust-free surface, press it down firmly and let it set for about 30 to 60 minutes before painting, as 3M advises. Wait until the paint is dry to the touch, then pull the tape slowly back on itself at a 45-degree angle.

3M says it leaves behind no damage or sticky residue when removed within 14 days, and that it does not cause surface damage even when exposed to direct sunlight. 3M's product listing does not give a cure time for new paint before taping, so test a small area first, as the roll core advises.
