Turn One Arm of a Monitor Arm Into a Laptop Tray

The Fellowes Laptop Arm Accessory 8044101 is for people who already have, or are buying, a monitor arm and want their laptop up beside the screens instead of flat on the desk: a ventilated black tray that bolts onto the VESA plate of an arm in place of a monitor.

It fits arm heads drilled to VESA 75 x 75 or 100 x 100, and Fellowes describe it as made to work with their monitor arm ranges, such as the Platinum Series. The tray takes one laptop up to 17 inches and 4.5kg, with side clamps adjusting from 240 to 420mm wide to grip it. The base is slotted for airflow and non-slip, and the tray measures 280 x 300 x 65mm and weighs 1.53kg.

Fellowes publish a current FIRA International test certificate for this accessory, to BS EN ISO 9241 Part 5 with an expiry of 19 December 2026, and it is attached here with the installation sheet. Fellowes AU list a 5-year limited warranty. The arm itself is sold separately.

FAQs

No. This is the tray only. It bolts onto an existing monitor arm whose head plate uses the 75 x 75 or 100 x 100 VESA pattern.
Fellowes say it combines with any monitor arm, provided its head plate uses one of those two VESA patterns and it is rated for the laptop plus the 1.53kg tray.
Up to 17 inches and 4.5kg, per Fellowes. The side clamps grip laptops from 240 to 420mm wide.
The base is slotted for ventilation, which Fellowes describe as a ventilated base. Keep the laptop vents clear as you would on a desk.
Yes. Fellowes publish a FIRA International certificate for this tray valid until 19 December 2026; you can download it on this page.
