Derwent Academy Watercolour Pencils, tin of 12

A tin of 12 Derwent Academy Watercolour Pencils in assorted colours, from Derwent's entry level Academy range for people starting out in drawing and painting.

Derwent created Academy as an edited range of art media to give budding artists an introduction to drawing, with a balance of quality and performance. The Watercolour Pencils sit alongside Academy colour and sketching pencils, pan sets, oil pastels and sketch pads. Derwent lists the 12 colours in this tin as Deep Red, Bright Pink, Purple, Sea Green, Dark Green, Olive Green, Terracotta, Brown, Black, Grey, White and Orange.

Watercolour pencils can be used dry like a colour pencil, then worked with a damp brush to soften the marks into washes. A single tin of 12 gives a beginner, a home artist or a class table a compact starting palette, and the larger Academy tins add more colours when needed.

See the full Derwent Academy range, compare sets in Watercolour Pencils, or browse Drawing & Colouring for watercolour pads, erasers and waterbrushes to go with the tin in a classroom or studio.
