A Warm, Smouldering Dark For Dramatic Drawing

Derwent 2301670 is Burnt Embers, TC06, a warm dark in the Derwent Tinted Charcoal range, and you get a box of 6 pencils.

Plain charcoal gives black and grey. Burnt Embers keeps the depth of charcoal but leans toward a red brown, which ACCO sum up as rich charcoal with a hint of colour. It suits shadows that need warmth: firelight, rust, bark, brick, autumn leaves and deep skin tones. Each pencil is printed Burnt Embers TC06, useful when it sits in a pot beside the similar sounding Glowing Embers.

ACCO say it smudges and blends easily and is naturally water-soluble, so marks can be pushed around with a stump or a finger, or softened with a wet brush. Being cased in a pencil, it gives the control of a drawing tool with less of the mess of a stick.
